Book Cover Series

This was a NTU brief to design a set of three book covers by an author of our choice. I chose three books by the author Jodi Picoult. I was inspired by simple, geometric book covers with a sensitive approach to colour.

The Camelsdale Way

This is a piece of freelance work I did for a Camelsdale Primary School in Surrey. The brief was to visualize the learning journey the children go through from the moment they start in reception right through to year 6 before they go into the 'ocean of life.'

Pepper

I painted this as part of a NTU project which was about observation of natural and man made objects and developing them into symbols. I like how the texture of the acrylic paint adds to look of the pepper.

Nick Hornby

As part of an illustration project at uni we were asked to create a front cover plus a chapter heading for a book by Nick Hornby called 31 Songs. It was specified that the book was to be released from a publisher called The Folio Society, which specializes in collectable illustrated editions of books. I caught onto taking the gun image from a key image in one of the chapters of the book. I liked the idea of the gun firing music and lyrics/ words rather than bullets.
